RSA Officially Underway
Inaugural Music & Culinary Classes at the Redeemer School of the Arts
We are underway with the inaugural class of the Redeemer School of the Arts (RSA) here in northeast Louisiana.
Our students arrived last week and began classes in music and culinary courses this week. The Redeemer School of the Arts sees the creative arts as essential to the Christian life. Our ultimate identity is that of Homo adorans (worshiping man), not Homo sapiens (man the thinker) or even Homo Faber (Man the Maker/Doer). If man’s chief end is to “Glorify God and enjoy him forever,” then there is much more to be done than breathing, eating, sleeping, etc. We have to take up recreation. Sure, that can be grabbing a ball or a club. But it should also be seen as holding a paintbrush, kitchen knife, violin bow, and more in a desire to picture in miniature the truth, goodness, and beauty of our Triune God.
